Yes, apparently, the only U.S. president with the guts to use the word genocide. President Obama, unfortunately, has caved, folded, given up the ship and has bowed to Turkey’s demands. The administration is trying to stop the resolution from going forward, so says a Reuters article.
The Obama administration on Friday sought to limit fallout from a resolution branding the World War One-era massacre of Armenians by Turkish forces as “genocide,” and vowed to stop it from going further in Congress.
So much for campaign pledges, promises and rhetoric. At least President Bush was honest about his actions, I’ll give him one up on our current president.
Turkey is whipping up its population against Armenians simply because they want the world to know what happened to them. I can’t understand why this is such an outrage to them. Can you imagine if Americans threw a fit because Native Americans wanted to talk about how their land was taken away from them? Or African-Americans not being able to use the “S” word – slavery? It’s ludicrous, really. And so, the madness continues.
