Kevork S. Hovnanian was an immigrant from Iraq. In the late 50s when Iranian political upheaval meant that businesses would be nationalized, he fled to the U.S. and the freedoms we enjoy here.  Whereupon  his arrival he and his 3 brothers managed to create a hugely successful homebuilding enterprise.
